What we do

We take responsibility for your technology as a whole.

Not one system, not one project — the whole picture, including the parts that are currently held in someone’s head and the parts that belong to vendors you have never met.

01

Understand

We find out what you actually run.

Discovery is the first thing we do and it is rarely uneventful. Domains registered on a former employee's personal account, two overlapping subscriptions to the same tool, a website nobody can log into. We map the whole picture, including the parts that were never written down.

02

Manage

We handle the routine administration.

Access changes, DNS records, account setup and removal, renewals, licence counts, the small tasks that are individually trivial and collectively a job. Where we are authorised to just do it, we just do it.

03

Coordinate

We deal with your vendors.

Developers, agencies, software companies, accountants, specialists. We brief them, chase them, check their work against what you asked for, and stay responsible for the outcome even when someone else does the work.

04

Improve

We tell you what to fix, and what to leave alone.

You will get honest recommendations about software, spend and risk — including the recommendation to change nothing, which is often the right one. We are paid by you and by nobody else, so there is no reason for us to say otherwise.

05

Preserve

We make sure it outlives everyone involved.

Every system, vendor, dependency, decision and recovery path is recorded and kept current. When someone leaves — your person, your developer, or ours — the knowledge stays with the company it belongs to.

The division of labour

We do plenty ourselves. We are honest about the rest.

No firm is expert in everything, and the ones that claim to be are usually charging you to learn on the job. What does not change is who stays responsible for the outcome.

What we do ourselves

  • Build and maintain your technology record
  • DNS and domain administration
  • Email and identity administration (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365)
  • Account provisioning, access changes and offboarding
  • Software selection research and vendor-neutral recommendations
  • Renewal, expiry and certificate monitoring
  • Vendor coordination and escalation
  • Documentation of systems, dependencies and decisions
  • Handover packages and data exports

What we coordinate for you

  • Website design, development and rebuilds
  • Security incident response and specialist security work
  • Accounting, payroll and tax software support
  • Network and hardware installation
  • Data and platform migrations
  • Legal and compliance advice
  • Anything genuinely outside our competence

Buki owns the understanding and the coordination of your technology — even when somebody else does the work.

In practice

Six requests, and what happens next.

“Our website is down.”

You do not need to know whether that is DNS, the host, the domain, the certificate, your developer, or an outage somewhere else. We work out which it is, fix what is ours to fix, and get the right vendor moving on the rest — then tell you in plain language what happened.

Added to your recordThe cause, the fix, and the dependency that turned out to matter.

“We need a CRM.”

We ask what you are actually trying to do, look at what you already run, and come back with two or three real options and an honest recommendation. We earn nothing from that recommendation. If you go ahead, we coordinate the setup and the migration.

Added to your recordThe decision, the alternatives you considered, and why you chose what you chose.

“Our developer needs access to the website.”

We already know the site runs on one platform, the DNS sits somewhere else, the code lives in a third place, and which agency you use. We grant the access that is genuinely needed, scoped to that person, and set a reminder to remove it when the engagement ends.

Added to your recordWho was granted what, who approved it, when it happens next, and when it should be revoked.

“We hired someone. Set up what they need.”

We know which accounts a person in that role gets, because we did it last time and wrote it down. Accounts are created, access is scoped to the role, and the new person's systems are attached to their name in your record.

Added to your recordThe role's standard access, so the next hire takes minutes instead of a week.

“Talk to our accounting software vendor for us.”

We do not pretend to be your accountant. We do speak the vendor's language, we have your account details and history in front of us, and we can sit in the support queue so your office manager does not have to.

Added to your recordThe issue, the vendor contact who solved it, and the resolution.

“Is this email real, or is someone trying something?”

Send it to us. We will tell you. If it turns out to be a genuine problem rather than a nuisance, we bring in a security specialist and coordinate the response — we do not improvise on that one.

Added to your recordWhat happened, and any change to how your email is protected.

Getting started

What the first few weeks look like.

  1. 01

    A conversation

Half an hour. You tell us about your company and what is currently annoying you. We tell you honestly whether we are a good fit — sometimes we are not.

  2. 02

    Discovery

We find everything: domains, email, websites, cloud, software, subscriptions, vendors, and who owns each account. This is where most companies learn something surprising about their own technology.

  3. 03

    Your technology record

We write it all down in one canonical place, including the dependencies between systems and the recovery path for each one. It is yours, and you can export it whenever you like.

  4. 04

    Ownership and access repair

Anything registered to the wrong person, paid on the wrong card, or accessible to someone who left — we fix, with your approval, before it becomes an emergency.

  5. 05

    Then we are simply there

You have a steward who knows your company. You email them when something comes up. We watch the dates in the background and tell you before they matter.

Boundaries

What we are not

Being clear about this is part of being trustworthy. Buki is not:
  • A computer repair shop
  • A hardware or network installation company
  • An overnight security operations centre
  • An accounting or legal firm
  • A software development agency
  • A replacement for every specialist you need

We coordinate all of these when you need them. We just will not bill you for expertise we do not have.

Questions

About the service.

What does Buki actually do, day to day?

We keep an accurate record of every system, vendor, account and dependency your company relies on. We watch the dates that matter. We answer your technology questions. We coordinate your vendors when something needs doing, and we handle routine administration ourselves when it is faster to just do it.

And we write down the important decisions — what you chose, what else you considered, and why — so the reasoning outlives the people who were in the room.

What happens when Buki does not know how to solve something?

We say so, and then we find the person who does. No firm is expert in everything, and pretending otherwise is how small businesses end up with bad advice delivered confidently.

What does not change is who is responsible. We find the specialist, brief them properly, coordinate the work, check the result, and record what happened in your technology record. You are never handed a phone number and left to manage it yourself.

Does Buki replace my existing vendors?

No. Your developer, agency, bookkeeper and software providers keep doing their work. We are the layer above them that understands how it all fits together and coordinates between them.

In practice, good vendors tend to like having us there. They get clear requirements, fast access, and someone who can answer questions about the rest of the environment without a week of email.

Are you an IT support company?

No, and the difference matters. We are not a helpdesk, we do not repair computers, install networks or staff an overnight operations centre, and we are not a software development agency.

We are the party that understands your technology as a whole and takes responsibility for coordinating it. When you need one of those other services, we will find you a good one and manage the relationship.

Getting started

Let's get your technology under control.

Tell us about your company. We will arrange a short conversation, tell you honestly whether we are a good fit, and leave you alone if we are not.
